My Approach to Helping
If you are experiencing addiction, depression, posttraumatic stress, anxiety, relationship issues, chronic stress, grief and loss, or major life transitions, I can help. I firmly believe a comfortable, trusting relationship between the therapist and people in treatment is essential to successful therapy. By working together and supporting each other, we can help you increase self-awareness, develop effective coping skills, and develop healthy relationships with others and yourself.
More Info About My Practice
I primarily employ a psychodynamic approach to treatment. I help couples and individuals gain insight into their issues and address past hurts that currently impact their behavioral patterns. However, I may also utilize principles from other evidence-based modalities such as sensorimotor psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness approaches, and EMDR to help people cope with distress, pain, and trauma.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
In addition to my private practice, I have experience providing effective mental health care to individuals and families in intensive inpatient and outpatient settings. I also conducted extensive research on addition over the course of several years. This background has equipped me with a thorough understanding of addiction and how psychotherapy may be used to foster lasting, positive change.
