My Approach to Helping
Natalie DiCrescenzo is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and board certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) who has 11 years ofexperience treating children, adults, and families struggling with a wide range of circumstances including depression/anxiety, substance abuse, mental illness, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, adoption/foster care, attachment disorders, behavioral difficulties, and relationship struggles. Natalie has also worked with LGBT and refugee/immigrant communities. Natalie completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Art Therapy and Counseling at Drexel University. Sheis trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including person-centered, psychoanalytic, behavioral, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, narrative, motivational interviewing, and the recovery model, and shewill tailor your session to best meet your needs.Natalie’s approach to therapy is informed by attachment based family therapy, and she emphasizes the importance of maintaining healthy communication with loved ones and support systems. Her work is also trauma informed, and supports the belief that our past experiences can affect our current functioning. Natalie will work to help you free yourself from your past. Additionally, Natalie incorporates art making, journaling, and other creative outlets designed to empower you beyond the therapy session. No artistic talent is needed to participate in art therapy with Natalie, only a willingness to think outside the box and a desire to live the full and healthy life you deserve.
