What's My Approach to Therapy?
It takes courage to ask for help, and I honor your courage in taking this step toward greater wellness. As an experienced psychotherapist with over 23 years of experience, it is my goal to work with you or your child in overcoming anxiety, stress, fear, panic attacks, and posttraumatic stress (PTSD) so that you are able to gain a sense of safety, wholeness, and internal calm. We do this by developing coping tools you can use daily that focus on grounding techniques, quieting distressing thoughts, and building on your existing strengths to regain confidence and a positive sense of self. Utilizing various approaches, including a specialization in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), I will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan that integrates mindfulness-based practices, somatic body-based approaches, and the flash technique. When working with children, play and sand tray therapy can help your child work through their anxiety, fears, trauma, and behavioral challenges. Together, we will move forward in an empowering, validating, and safe way. My approach is down-to-earth, interactive, and solution-oriented.
