My Approach to Helping

You may be struggling through anxiety, depression, or stress over a life transition. Perhaps you feel as if you’re being pulled in too many directions at once. Or you wonder if you’re making the right decision about your relationship, your career, or your purpose. It is possible to find a way forward that brings you fulfillment and happiness. My goal is to help you identify what’s troubling you and to guide you to the changes you desire.

I wasn't always a therapist - I have worked in the Fortune 500 world and have also owned my own small business. In fact, I have nearly three decades of practical experience and hard-earned insights that I bring to every conversation. By talking and processing together, we can collaborate on ways for you to reach your goals. The challenges my clients face are varied: Some are in a funk that can’t shake off or feel trapped in a feedback loop of anxiety. Still, others feel stressed out, emotionally stretched too thin, or are quietly wishing to leave a corporate career and to try something new. Are you exhausted from a difficult relationship or managing your mood? Or perhaps you’re unsure of how to manage a hard life transition? My job is to help you move forward and to explore the feelings, memories, patterns of behavior, and even blind spots that may be holding you back.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Contrary to popular belief, a therapist is not an advice giver as much as they are a guide. I'm not here to tell you what do but to help inform your journey, to point out blind spots, and to provide unconditional positive feedback. In our first session, you'll discover a warm and supportive environment that is entirely focused on helping you feel better and on achieving your goals. I have a friendly, non-judgmental, and conversational approach that quickly overcomes any shy feelings you might have. If difficult emotions arise, we'll work through them together, figure out what they are trying to tell you, and discuss ways we can reduce their intensity. Many of my clients end up looking forward to the time spent in therapy because they are with someone who is working hard to understand and help them move forward.
