My Approach to Helping

Thanks for visiting my profile! I specialize in adults (ages 18 - 40's) dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, career challenges, and family conflicts—among other struggles. My approach is to work together to find a clinical modality that addresses your style and need; such modalities include CBT, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), and mindfulness meditation. In addition, I'm trained in the field of Positive Psychology, a.k.a. the scientific study of happiness. As such, my goal is to help clients both overcome challenges and optimize passion & well-being in their lives.

Groups I Work With

Thanks for visiting my profile! I specialize in adults (college - 40's) dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship & career challenges, ADHD, OCD, panic attacks, and trauma. My approach is first to understand your struggles and perspective. And, as needed, supplement your instincts with clinical tools insights. I draw from modalities such as CBT, humanism, IFS, attachment theory & mindfulness (see Treatment Approach below). I'm also trained in Positive Psychology—aka. the scientific study of happiness. As such, I aim to help clients both (1) overcome challenges and (2) optimize passion well-being in their lives.

Finding a therapist is not fun. Most people see dozens of options on directories like this, but have no idea how to narrow their search. If you're experiencing this (or something similar), please call or email to schedule a consultation. I used to say "15-minute consult," but these tend to last closer to 30!

Matt Sosnowsky, MSW, MAPP is the founder of Philadelphia Talk Therapy (serving greater Philadelphia) and District Psychotherapy (serving the DC Metro area, remotely).
