My Approach to Helping
I am a National Board Certified Counselor practicing in Milton, Alpharetta, and Sandy Springs and now more accessible via teletherapy. I specialize in teen, family, and individual therapy dealing with anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), self-harm, depression, eating struggles, LGBTQ+ issues, and Covid related adjustment issues.
I provide treatments that are evidence-based, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), in order for my clients to obtain their desired change as efficiently as possible. My goal is for my clients to leave each session, including the first, with strategies and tools that they can immediately put into use to begin feeling a sense of hope and relief. Therapy is a process and does take patience and time. I use a treatment approach, DBT, focusing on improving emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness that aids in the reduction of anxiety and depression, enabling you to function at a higher level. Other facets of your life improve simultaneously, such as family, relationships, and career, creating a more fulfilled and satisfying life.
