My Approach to Helping
My specialty is working with teens, families and individuals to help navigate through issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, eating disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, and Covid related adjustment issues (social anxiety). I am down to earth and feel therapy should be a judgement free, safe zone.
Empathy and acceptance are how I structure my practice, along with using dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other relevent therapies gaged towards each individual in order for my clients to obtain their desired change as efficiently as possible. My goal is for my clients to leave each session, including the first, with strategies and tools that they can put into use to begin feeling a sense of hope and relief. Emotion regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness are skills that aid in the reduction of anxiety and depression, enabling you to function at a higher level and improve other facets in your life simultaneously, such as relationships, family and career, creating a more fulfilled and satisfying life. Therapy is a process, it does take patience and time, it's worth it.
