My Approach to Helping

I believe everyone has the capacity and desire for individual growth. Whether an individual has come from a troubled background or a supportive family environment, there is always room for increased personal awareness and development. I believe in providing a very supportive environment, both physically and emotionally. I am caring, empathetic, and direct in my approach to couples and to individuals. I primarily use psychodynamic therapy but am familiar with many other models. I use what will work! In my work with the gifted and creative, I base my approach on Dabrowski's Theory of Positive Disintegration.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As a gifted individual, the mother of five gifted children, coach of over a hundred Odyssey of the Mind students, and a PhD in Gifted and Creative Educational Psychology, I have decades of experience in navigating the positive and negative aspects of giftedness: increased sensitivities, perfectionism, underachievement, Asperger's, synesthesia.
