My Approach to Helping
Psychotherapy is the practice of talking things through with a trusted and skilled professional. This practice enables a frame of reference for solving issues in ones life and easing emotional pain including stress, sadness, guilt, and loss. For those who seek therapy, there is a desire to grow, to build connections with others, as well as having the bravery to change. Inescapably, there are times when we lose our way, experience misunderstandings, or struggle with our uncertainties about our own abilities. An experienced therapist makes sense of, and can help one attain relief from pain and find solutions to problems in a nonjudgmental environment. Life is a continuous journey. Discovering our strengths and cultivating our sense of well-being will help one through the many challenges that make up our lives. When you choose to do work in therapy, it is a crucial and significant endeavor.
Another element of my practice is wellness lifestyle coaching. The goal is to help you tap into, and actualize your clear vision of who you are and to help you create the life you would love to live. Whether you have issues with career change, family, relationships, difficulty finding your purpose, or any other issue that pertains to how you live your life, there will be a time that you will need help. Coaching is different than counseling in that coaching does not spend time on healing past experiences as in counseling, but rather looks at goals for the here and now for clients that are willing to move forward and make changes. What emerges from this process is an atmosphere of enthusiasm and hopefulness about creating a life that is deeply satisfying and meaningful.
