My Approach to Helping
I am here to be your guide through the anxiety, fear, sadness, and emptiness you might be feeling. You don't have to go through it alone.
I hold a safe space for those who are struggling from the often debilitating anxiety, family and relationship conflicts, codependency, and depression that complex trauma can bring. Relational trauma might be causing anxiety within your relationships. You might come from a long line of family traumas that are affecting you today. It might also show up as fear, anxiety, or anger with your job. Maybe you are going through a breakup and are having a hard time finding yourself again. You may feel an emptiness and sadness and you don't know why. Whoever you are and wherever your journey has taken you, you aren't alone with this.
I might use mindfulness-based techniques with you, such as grounding exercises, or mindful breathing. I might work with you on untangling your self-talk and helping you to create a new story about yourself. I might guide you through embracing all your feelings, having self-compassion, and feeling safe and more in control of yourself and your life.
Some approaches that I will use, as appropriate, that I have found to be effective include, but are not limited to:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Trauma Informed Therapies
