My Approach to Helping

You may find that you have been having the same argument repeatedly, feeling stuck and hurt. Your relationship can change from the frustration of repeated negative interactions to a sense of trust, security, safety and love. I'm certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy as a Therapist and Supervisor. EFT has over 30 years of research into the effectiveness of this method. 90% of couples report having an improved relationship after EFT counseling. EFT is more than learning communication skills. I specialize in helping couples and families develop better, safer, long lasting, connected and satisfying relationships.
For those considering divorce, I also provide Discernment Counseling to help you feel certain that you are making the best choice, whether you ultimately stay and commit to couples counseling or proceed towards divorce.
I also specialize in helping adults who have suffered Abuse or Trauma.
You can recover, heal, and have safe, satisfying, and loving relationships.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have helped many couples struggling in their relationships to develop an understanding of each other, learn to support each other, and as a result rediscover their love and connection. I'm Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as a Therapist and Supervisor.
I am also trained in Discernment Counseling to help you decide whether to stay in your current relationship or to leave, if you are not certain about going to couples counseling first. This method of only a few sessions is helpful when one of you is leaning out of the relationship, not at all certain couples counseling would work but not absolutely certain about divorce either and the other partner really wants to work on the relationship. The goal of this approach is to come to a decision with clarity and confidence on whether to leave things as they are, go for 6 months of couples counseling with divorce off the table, or to go for separation and divorce.
I have worked with a variety of families from many different cultural backgrounds and walks of life. You can begin to work towards the family and relationship that you have longed for.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy helps people find their own voice, their strengths, and a clearer understanding of what they want. Rather than learning communication skills, EFT counseling helps you understand the longings you and your partner have for a closer, safe, secure relationship and helps you work together for the love you have always wanted. Therapy can help you heal when you are hurting, scared, anxious, worried, or feeling hopeless. It can help you move forward with clarity and certainty.
