My Approach to Helping

Frustration is like an indicator light on your dashboard - it can tell you when something is going on that needs to be addressed. Ignore a low-fuel light and you could wind up stranded; ignore frustration, and you could find yourself living a dissatisfied, disgruntled life for a long time.

Therapy is a powerful tool that can help you move forward toward growth and wholeness. My practice is based on the idea that I can encourage growth and understanding by listening to and helping you move toward the life that you want. Through a nonjudgemental, empathic, and collaborative approach, we can work together to help you heal. It's important to develop open communication and trust to empower our collaboration. It takes strength and strategy to overcome challenging problems and difficult situations, but through working together, you’ll be able to do that with increasing success. Depending on the moment, I may suggest books, meetings, movies, and other tools that can help you find clarity and direction. My main goal is for you to become more fulfilled in your life.

I work with a wide range of clients. I work with children, teens, and adults individually, and I also offer family and couple’s counseling. To all my sessions, I bring a deep appreciation for connection and communication, and I seek to facilitate your growth in your relationships with others as well as yourself.

Frustration doesn’t have to win the day. You can have peace. If you take the indicator light of frustration as the warning it is, if you take steps toward resolving your frustration, you will find joy and calm on the other side.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I am a helper at heart. I love to work with people work their concerns. It's a wonderful feeling when I see progress made. The journey may be short or long, but working through an issue together is very fulfilling.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

No one should ever feel flawed for going to therapy. No one should be judged for asking for help. I feel that therapy is a tool and guide for people to work on themselves or form better relationships. It's a place to feel safe. I hope that the stigma of going to counseling will disappear.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Depending on your issues or concerns, your time in therapy may be short or long. I believe working together is very important, and I'm always looking to customize what I offer based on your needs and situation. I am available to meet once a week or twice a month - whatever works best for you.
