My Approach to Helping
I believe that a warm, trusting relationship with a therapist can change a person's life. Therapy should be a safe place to explore your struggles, hopes, fears... anything that you want to discuss with a compassionate and knowing professional who cares. I consider it an honor to hear your stories and work together with you to find solutions, strength, and healing.
I have been working in the field for over ten years. I am the co-author of two books and was adjunct faculty at the University of San Diego for five years before relocating to Pleasanton. But the thing I am known best for is listening. I have been called “the best listener” my whole life, and as a therapist I have learned to listen between the lines, helping you find connections and meaning among the stress and challenges of your life. Depending on your wants and needs, I also provide feedback and suggestions, including at-home exercises that will help you meet your goals. We are in this together and together we will help you to feel and live the way that you deserve!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am very experienced with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, improving self-esteem, recovery from addiction or substance abuse, overeating, and healing from childhood trauma. I enjoy helping parents to parent the way they want to, and partners to have more joy in their relationships. My individual clients are often working on changing old patterns that have left them feeling stuck. I love being a facilitator of that change, and watching the incredible growth that I see in my clients!
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The most important aspect of therapy is the connection between you and your therapist. You must feel comfortable and safe enough to be open with the therapist or counselor you work with. I pride myself on providing a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental presence for my clients. Take the step to reach out to me and see if I feel like the right fit!
