My Approach to Helping
I have 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in treating trauma, addiction, anxiety disorders, depression, LGBTQ issues and marriage and family conflict. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My training in psychodynamic theory serves as the foundation for my existential approach to recovery. I view the process of psychotherapy as an ever-evolving lens to understanding the perceptions we have of ourselves and the relationships we have with our external world. I believe you have the capacity to achieve personal growth through changes in perspective, habits, attitudes and behaviors which have limited you in the past from accomplishing your full potential. I make a commitment to you to work hard to help you get better, feel happier and attain goals which previously may have seemed impossible.
