My Approach to Helping
Making sure you are comfortable and at ease from the first contact is a priority and a must. My strengths lie in my ability to make connections and foster a warm relationship, even with those who are apprehensive. This is because of the improvements and benefits seen almost immediately. I know sometimes making that first call and showing up to that first appointment can feel overwhelming. I often find that the first session can feel relieving by the time you have left- that you felt good, understood, and hopeful.
I have been working with children, teens and adults both in the public school system and in a clinical setting for almost 20 years. Using a practical, empathic approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, a genuine, authentic style, and a commitment to the process of therapy, people who have met with me have successfully developed coping and social skills, managed eating disorders/body image struggles, tamed and understood their anxieties and depression, increased their self-confidence, understood and resolved family concerns, and so much more.
If you are not sure if I can help, call me and feel me out. Check out my website or even send me an email (I reply pretty quickly!).
