My Approach to Helping

Do other therapists seem judgmental? Don't understand? Won't listen to you? If you need to talk about anything and everything, clients tell me I have a strong capacity for compassion, empathy, and care. At the same time, I’m forthright and candid. I see you and hear you—a whole person (body, mind, spirit) living in an interactive and interconnected world. I believe you're the expert in you--even if you're not yet aware of it. My role is to help you find that and bring my own holistic vision, experience, training, expertise, and tools to the table, so you can work to be the best possible version of you.

I integrate depth-meaning psychotherapy, evidence-based tools, sex therapy and sexual health, coaching, counseling. Additional expertise in: Sexual & gender diversity, erotic pleasure, relational intimacy, honesty, empowering reproductive choice, breaking the drug-sex link, sex workers, men (cis & trans), masculinities, men's sexuality, discovering-owning-exchanging power, ethical nonmonagamy, ethical monogamy, Kink-Fetish-BDSM.

We'll form a deep therapeutic alliance to discover, encounter, address, and surpass the obstacles keeping you in distress or recapitulating trauma.

More Info About My Practice

I am based in San Francisco and also see Chicago clients (primarily by video but with periodic in-person availability). I see Illinois and California clients primarily by HIPAA-compliant confidential video sessions, but also in person. I am also available to do teletherapy-only in Florida (License TPMF299). As more US citizens move abroad, I am also available to provide them confidential video sessions to Mexico and to the nations in the Shengen Area (but if they maintain a US residence, it must be in a state in which I am licensed to practice).
