My Approach to Helping
You are meant to be happy and live an effective and fulfilling life. Most clients come to therapy due to problems in relationships, how one feels about themselves, and handling the challenges and uncertainties of life. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you will feel at ease expressing your thoughts and feelings that perhaps have been difficult to understand and accept. I counsel frequently on understanding how our minds work, effective communication, assertiveness skills, family dynamics, marital and parenting topics, as well as natural remedies for anxiety and depression.
My first career was in nursing and I later pursued my degree in Psychology and Health and then entered into School Counseling. After being a high school counselor I worked in Fairfax Mental Health with individuals with serious mental illness. These eclectic experiences have given me the seasoning needed to understand a myriad of human challenges.
