So many people spend time on that very fence - and once they start therapy, the most frequent comment is "I wish I'd come in sooner!" There are reasons for the fence: many people feel it's too hard to tell their story, or they have never gone to an "outsider" before to talk, or the expense is a consideration. I work collaboratively with clients, asking the questions that help them share their story. In my experience, even when reluctant to share with an "outsider," the relief people feel when they share - and then work toward insight and change - overcomes the reluctance. Many clients who self-pay opt to come in every other week - we schedule what is best for you.
