YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE SICK OR BROKEN IN ORDER TO SEEK THERAPY! In fact, you go to the dentist for a cleaning and check-up to make sure you keep your teeth healthy; why can't you do the same for your emotional health? My services as a Licensed Psychologist are ongoing and preventative, rather than exclusively reactive and crisis oriented. For over 14 years I have worked with people and their families throughout their lives on developmental, existential, and spiritual concerns. Thus, I help people who are invested in growth, depth, meaning, and quality of life.

More Info About My Practice

When I meet with you I don't just sit there, listen and nod. I provide step-by-step strategies to help you feel more in control of your life. My goal is to empower you to solve the challenges disrupting your life now. I am focused on the solution, not the problem. Because the therapy I utilize is results oriented, the majority of my clients are in treatment between 6 and 12 sessions, usually beginning with weekly therapy sessions and then progressing to every other week appointments.

Instead of just coping with distress after it begins, you can learn strategies to prevent many distressing experiences before they start. By examining your thinking habits and perspectives, you can let go of those which promote negative moods and unwanted behaviors. Enhance the thoughts and perspectives that lead to more positive moods and more constructive behavior
I accept cash, checks or credit cards. Sliding Scale fee upon request.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I've helped adults feel better about their relationships and themselves for more than 25 years. I am warn and collaborative, and I rely on a strength-based approach. I've helped my clients deal with a variety of life's challenges, including recognizing and changing unhealthy relationship patterns, establishing and respecting boundaries, people pleasing, life transitions, recovery from sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, self-esteem, self-confidence, shyness, loss, and grief. I also help my clients navigate family-of-origin and mother-daughter issues.
I collaborate with each client to design a custom-tailored plan based on your needs, goals, and strengths. Depending on what you need, we may use psychodynamic approaches to explore how your history affects your current life. We may also use cognitive-behavioral techniques to explore and change distorted beliefs. And if you have struggled with trauma or abuse, we may weave between the present and the past.
