My Approach to Helping
Katie Brugger is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Her professional experience includes school counseling in public and cyber schools, individual and group therapy for children and adolescents, early intervention services for special needs, early childhood education, and outpatient clinical therapy. Katie specializes in emotional issues (anxiety, self-esteem, isolation, grief), adjustment challenges, ADHD, family relationship issues, and teaching children healthy coping skills. Katie completed her Master's degree (MS Ed) in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as her Master's degree (MA) in Educational Psychology from Montclair State University. She is a mother of two with experience navigating the everyday challenges of parenting. This, combined with her professional experience, enables her to provide support and help her clients make the changes they need to live happier lives. Through talk and play therapy, creative interventions, connection, and support, Katie strives to help children believe in themselves. Using a variety of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and activities, she will help you create goals, develop a positive plan, and break down problems into manageable parts.
