My Approach to Helping
Therapy is an experience of collaboration and trust. I tailor my approach to each individual’s needs and preferences. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment and work from a strength-based perspective. I am interactive, not shying away from giving feedback, but fundamentally believe each individual has the capacity to set their own goals and measure their own success. I have extensive experience treating adults with a variety of disorders such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), substance abuse, and with those suffering from maladaptive coping strategies.
I also work with individuals who are unhappy with their relationships, their careers, and those having difficulty with life transitions. I have worked with those trying to reconcile a history of abuse and/or neglect and those attempting to navigate and adjust to unexpected changes in their life.
I appreciate working with those that present to therapy with a curiosity to understand themselves more fully. I utilize evidence-based practices drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches, to assist you in understanding and changing issues that prevent you from living a “life worth living.”
