My Approach to Helping
A variety of reasons and symptoms may have led you to here in search of a therapist. Anxiety, disappointment, confusion, career and relationship concerns, substance use, life transitions, emotional or sexual trauma, a creative block - these are just a few possibilities. Whatever brought you, welcome!
I was drawn to the healing arts through a natural-born, unquenchable curiosity about people and the experience of being a person, and my desire to help others. I believe in the powers of the psyche and one's ability to heal oneself and others. Because I believe relationships can heal, I work relationally with individuals and couples. Building a safe and supportive relationship between us is a potent way to help you heal and grow. I regularly check in to see how you feel about our work and I adjust accordingly.
I use Gestalt here-and-now techniques, as well as use creative Jungian tools, such as dream work and creative journaling. Together, we will explore what brings you to therapy and discover fresh perspectives that can facilitate your growth and healing.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I've trained closely with Dr. Stan Tatkin and bring his innovative approach to couple therapy into my work with couples. Dr. Tatkin developed PACT, a Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy. PACT a fusion of attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation. It is based on cutting edge science and theory and it's "bottom-up" techniques and interventions have radically changed the way I work with couples.
I believe that having a satisfying and healthy primary relationship can provide you with courage and strength, and feed you both personally and professionally. And at the same time when your primary relationship is struggling, it can create ripple effects of challenges in your life, both personally and professionally. Our primary relationships are so important and yet so challenging to tend to and nurture sometimes.
In couple therapy, my job is to help you with this relationship. And my intimate training in PACT is a great asset to be able to do that quickly and effectively.
I think that couple therapy is very hard to reach out for and seek for help. I appreciate that and I welcome to opportunity to speak with you and your partner to see how I can help you two out.
