My Approach to Helping
Are you going through a break up and would like to move forward from the pain? Are you in a relationship and want to find a way to work things out? Do you suffer from depression and or anxiety? Are you a parent of a child who suffers from depression and or anxiety? Would you like to feel confident and look forward to your day? With my professional skills, I can help you by providing an individualized plan to gain the appropriate tools to overcome challenges and move on to positive change. I would like to introduce myself, Kaji Martinez, as an advocate for the emotional wellness of those who seek my services for positive growth and healing. My field experience is not limited to, but includes extensive work with families in major transitions both at Seattle Mental Health and YWCA Pathways for Women, parent education, couples counseling, and those dealing with the trauma of sexual and physical abuse. I take pride in recognizing diversity and the ownership of each individual's uniqueness, and allow those to explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals in a safe, objective, and confidential environment. My usual therapeutic approach is derived from a Cognitive behavioral component, where the client is able to acquire information for positive growth through exploration of thoughts and feelings with the support of the therapist. I also include aspects of Positive Psychology, and Narrative Therapy to compliment the CBT components. Often times, we may explore your attachment style and how it relates to your current and future relationships. I want to ensure that all of my clients have the best chance possible in gaining self fulfillment and awareness for positive growth. I may also integrate Family systems theory from a structural approach. This includes the examination of the family dynamics and the relationships within the system. My services include couples, family, and individual counseling, in addition to several educational and support groups. I dedicate myself to those invested in creating change through self determination and the willingness to invite positive change.
