My Approach to Helping
Greetings, I am Julie Elliott a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience and I enjoy working with people of all ages to reach their unique life goals.
Julie Elliott is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 30 years of experience. Specialties include depression, stress and anxiety management, addictions, marriage and family therapy, trauma and child abuse. She is also experienced in LGBTQ issues, grief and loss, codependency, communication problems, family of origin issues, hospice and end of life counseling, military and veterans' issues, post-traumatic stress, and women's issues. In addition, Julie has worked extensively with adolescents and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In her experience with adolescents, she also provided treatment at therapeutic boarding schools and wilderness programs.
Julie received her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston in 1990 and was one of the first licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Texas. Julie utilizes a therapeutic “toolbox” which includes the following clinical approaches: Client-Centered, CBT, DBT, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness, Narrative and Solution, and Trauma Focused Therapy.
Throughout her 30-year career, Julie has worked with people of all ages to address the personal and emotional barriers that stand in the way of reaching their goals and living their best life. She stays inspired by the courage and resilience of those with whom she has been privileged to work.
