My Approach to Helping
Joseph Pugach is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has 9 years of inpatient and outpatient experience in the field of mental health, working with older adolescents, college- age and college students, and adults with anxiety, depression, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other stressors and areas of concern in individual and group therapy settings. Joseph completed both his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology at the University of Mary Washington, and his Master of Education (MEd) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the School of Education at the College of William & Mary. Joseph utilizes humanistic, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, collaborative, and solution-focused approaches in therapy, emphasizing the capacity to develop self-awareness and self-healing by providing a safe, therapeutic environment that facilitates growth through self exploration in order to meet the unique needs of clients. Joseph seeks to work collaboratively with you and to support you in defining your goals and success in your pursuit of healthy change as you develop and refine new skills and strategies you can implement so you can live the fuller, more actualized life you desire.
