My Approach to Helping
If you are struggling with, or are the parent of someone who struggles with substance use issues, I am here to help. Substance use is often just the symptom of a larger problem such as anxiety, depression, trauma, codependency and family issues. I have worked hard on educating myself so that I can understand the underlying issues that may be contributing to the use. If you or your child are struggling with any of these concerns but do not feel comfortable doing a substance use program, I am available to help you begin making the changes you would like to see in your life. Additionally, I am open to anyone who may be seeking help for any one of the previous concerns, even if there is no substance use involved.
I use multiple different theoriesmodalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Person-Centered, Solution Focused and Strength Based. It is important to me that I individualize my sessions to meet the needs of each client.
During this strange time of uncertainty and isolation, mental health issues and substance use are on the rise. I pride myself on creating a relaxed and non-judgmental environment so that all my clients feel safe and understood. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone if you would like to set up a consultation or have any questions!
