My Role as a Therapist
Simply stated: to help
Of course, it is more than that, but ultimately my role is to be a helper. Therapy is a process, a journey. No one should face tough decisions, problems, or situations alone and this is where having a therapist can be beneficial to you. A therapist is a coach, a sounding board, an empathetic listener and so much more, but most of all they are there for you, no judgments. I provide a safe place for you to challenge your current situation and make positive changes for yourself.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
As with many things, this depends on you and the situation. There are sometimes limitations due to insurance andor financial concerns, however this can be managed. I will make recommendations based on your assessment and needs, and we will work together from there to find the best fit for both of us.
What Makes up a Problem?
You decide this! When you come to see me, you define the problem and we work together to problem solve and to find a solution that works for you! Identification of barriers and brainstorming ideas are sometimes the biggest problems, so being able to discuss these and obtain feedback is key to solving any problem.
