My Approach to Helping
Parenting is one of the hardest jobs there are. As a parent, you want your children to thrive and become successful adults, but when you see your child or adolescent struggle with depression, anxiety or the effects of a traumatic/stressful event, it can be heartbreaking. My passion is working with children and families to overcome life struggles and work through transitions in their lives. As a child therapist, my job is to help you and your child as you navigate the seasons of life. My approach is to get to know your child and engage them in therapy using their interests and strengths to help them reach their full potential as unique individuals.
More Info About My Practice
I am a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have 9 years experience in working with children, adolescents and families in different capacities. My practice focuses on using play therapy techniques that help children engage in treatment and allow them to express themselves when they can't find the words to do so. I am passionate about helping children overcome anxiety, depression and traumatic/stressful events in their lives.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love walking side by side with children/adolescents and working with them to overcome their struggles. Part of my role is to help them use their strengths and guide them as they work out problems and find solutions. I enjoy working with children and teens because they often struggle to express their needs and I can join them in the process of learning to identify their difficulties and find ways to resolve them. I use play therapy techniques to help children and teens find their voice and make sense of life when they feel overwhelmed by it.
