My Approach to Helping
I work with twenty and thirty-somethings who are ready for change and wanting more. In our work together, you can find the freedom to let go of the perfection, the unyielding grip of trying to control, and the what ifs, and delight in what happens when you feel secure in trusting and loving your (truest, most authentic, realest) self. In this process, you will be guided to make peace with your anger, answer your confusion, calm your fears, and comfort your heartache. You can gracefully slow down in a fast and busy world, and trust to live the life that belongs only to you.
More Info About My Practice
I playfully and pragmatically help clients let go of patterns and beliefs that don't fit with the desires and goals they dream of. In therapy, I offer a safe and trusting place filled with deep empathy, soulful grounding, and laughter. With each session, there is an opening for knowing and meaning, relief, and joy.
Maybe you feel like you've tried, and yet you still haven't seen the changes you want. The unfulfilling relationships, habits of pleasing others, compromises & self-sabotage, anxiety, and similar difficult situations keep repeating themselves. Maybe you know why maybe you don't. You think if only I could...but you're just not there - yet! I firmly believe we all already have the power within us to make meaningful changes and live the life we want - at times we just need a little help unblocking these unique gifts.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
It's no special coincidence that I specialize in anxiety and control. I've done the work and I walk my talk. Many of us are grasping so tightly and trying to control all we can, scared of what might happen next. It's exhausting. It's painful. And it's terrifying. Offering my lessons & clinical knowledge for letting go and teaching the skills around how to truly release is one of my favorite therapeutic gifts to share.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
WHY do we tear ourselves down? We get so angry inside our heads about all the things we do wrong throughout the day.
Ugh, why did I say that? / Oh god, how am I ever going to fix that? / Why do I keep doing that? / Now, what are they thinking?
How about this: instead of being mad at ourselves - let's be mad at the box. The tiny little trap our light and joy are locked away in. Where we're stuck and our true selves are not allowed to be seen. Where we're living our lives to meet others expectations, staying small so we don't mess up, and settling with "good enough" rather than going for what we really want.
Smash open that awful box. Break outside it and take risks and make mistakes. See it as an act of bravery each and every time you come outside it.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
I'm a strengths-based and needs based therapist. There's nothing wrong with us when we enter therapy - we're just not going about meeting our needs in the best way, or there's a mixup in our minds about what something means. I help clients to use their own values and gifts to navigate meeting their needs and understanding the things that make them feel most stuck.
