My Approach to Helping
Asking for help isn’t easy. Yet, I believe it is worth the risk to find out you are not alone. That’s why when you are ready to ask for help, I am here to provide a safe, trustworthy, and collaborative counseling relationship. I have successfully helped others with trauma and PTSD, complex or developmental trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, negative thoughts, emotions, and women's hormonal health issues like PMDD. I offer a comforting, warm, and genuine atmosphere, and use a variety of interventions such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), NARM, and sand-tray therapy.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment theory, focusing on the importance of relationships, connection, and the influence of our past. I also enjoy incorporating education, tools, and humor to help you feel at ease. Whether you have goals in mind or aren’t sure where to start, my goal is to work together so you feel safe, heard, and excited about life.
My fee is $115 but I have a counseling intern in training that provides individual, family, and couples therapy for $50 a session. This is a great way to receive affordable counseling with me overseeing her work to assist in your healing! I also accept Optum or United and BCBS of KC health insurance. Please let me know when booking if you would like to use your insurance.
