My Approach to Helping

I specialize in counselling for queer, trans, genderdiverse, and neurodivergent people. I work with individuals, couples, poly folks, and families from the perspectives of social justice and attachment - I believes that the social environment we grew up in, and our relationship histories within those environments, shape how we show up in our present. I pay special attention to how power functions in our relationships and communities, and how it impacts our internal experiences. I am kink and poly affirming, and excited to work with people with all kinds of relationship structures.

Queer, trans, and neurodivergent people often have unique needs in counselling because of messages throughout their lives saying that they don't fit within their environments. Counselling can support these folks to find community, experience a more consistent sense of self-worth, and build a life that fits for them.

I'm excited to connect with you and to find out what it is you most need from counselling. I tailor my approach to each individual client, and strive to create a welcoming environment where you can show up as your whole self.

Groups I Work With

I work primarily with queer, genderdiverse and trans*, and neurodivergent people. I am kink, sex work, and poly affirming in my practice. Many of my clients are people who have felt like the "just don't fit" in traditional schooling, workplaces, family life, or systems, and have painful experiences of rejection or exclusion in their histories. This comes with a sense of chronic stress about not "fitting" as well as a search for belonging and fulfillment. Some of my clients feel a deep sense of emptiness and disconnection, having spent years trying to figure out "what's wrong with them", sometimes after multiple incorrect diagnoses. I work with my clients on reducing stress, increasing self-acceptance, and finding belonging and a sense of fit in their own lives. I have also worked extensively with queer people leaving high control religious environments.
