My Approach to Helping
Have you been struggling with anxiety and panic, or depression and stress? Maybe your feeling stuck and can't break out of your downward spiral of non-stop negative thinking. Are you replaying the same stories and events in your head over and over? You long for a mental rest yet find it elusive. You just can't shut your mind off.
Or perhaps you are overwhelmed by fatigue and sadness that you are no longer able to enjoy many once-beloved activities and people in your life. You're just numb. It is a struggle to get out of bed let alone get to work and take care of a family
You don't have to feel this way. There is hope. Life can get better.
Let's work together to build up your strengths and target your weaknesses so they no longer get in your way. Learn skills you can use as soon as our session ends. In working together you will get real, tangible skills that can alleviate your symptoms.
I know it is hard trying to find the right person to help you. I would be happy to speak with you on the phone to answer any questions you may have. That way you can determine if I might be a good fit for you. Check out some of my videos and blogs to get more of a sense of what it would be like to work with me.
More Info About My Practice
If convenience, privacy, and flexibility are a must for you, then you may benefit from working together through an online platform. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant audio-visual platform in the comfort of your own home or office. There is no software you need to download. My website lays it all out for you on how online counseling works.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
The purpose of psychotherapy is for you to learn how to build new skills to solve problems. In this way, you will be able to continue to use the same skill set months and years after therapy ends. It is not just about solving immediate problems or feeling better temporarily. Utilize your strengths to maximize your progress and build up your weaknesses so that you are not making the same mistakes over and over again.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love the transformative power of therapy when people go all in and fully commit to the process. My favorite kind of person to work with is one who is willing to be vulnerable and remain committed to the process no matter how they are being stretched to grow. If you are not growing then you're not changing. They have the end goal in mind and are willing to do the work that it takes to get there.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Trust and rapport take time to develop. I have no expectation as to how long that will take for you. Everyone has their own timeline. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental, atmosphere. Most people who utilize online counseling tend to feel more relaxed and open up quicker because they are already in their comfortable, familiar environment at home or the office. You will feel empowered during our work together because we make decisions as a team and we go at your own pace.
