My Approach to Helping

If you, or your child, are struggling with depression, anxiety, constant conflict or the impact of trauma, it's important to know that life can get better. Sometimes the pain these problems create lead us to believe that there is no path to a happier future. It can feel as though you will be forever stuck in the present difficulties.

But this is not true. There are ways to change, ways to transform the current obstacles you face into manageable challenges that you overcome. I've spent many years helping children, teens, and adults who have been in your situation turn things around and live happier, more full lives.

The way to move forward is often different depending upon your particular circumstances, and your specific strengths and goals. My approach is to work with clients as a team, taking the very best guidance from research, combining that with proven practical insights, and steadily push towards reaching your goals. This approach is one that most people find they can trust and one that makes sense.

If you are tired of struggling and want to learn more about how we could work together on your goals, I hope you will give me a call. The consultation is free, and you'll not be pressured to make a decision about therapy, just a chance to learn about one more option for creating a happier life.

All the best,

Forrest Talley

More Info About My Practice

After working at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center for many years I left to open a private practice in 2018. Throughout my career at UCDMC I trained over a hundred interns in our year long intensive internship training program, and also developed and was in charge of daily operations of our individual and group therapy programs. This experience gave me insight into what sort of therapeutic approaches are effective at bringing about change, and the type of training needed to help therapists (even those therapists that have practiced for many years) to become highly skilled practitioners.

Invictus Psychological Services was begun as a way of using these insights to form a group of practitioners that would provide high quality counseling to those who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, unfulfilling relationships and parenting concerns. If you would like to learn more about our practice feel free to call for a free telephone consultation (916 790-5138).
