My Approach to Helping
Is your teen struggling? Has this new season of adolescence been especially challenging? With school based experience at all levels, I apply a lens that looks at systems in efforts to identify root patterns that may need tending to. To me, change begins when we decide that we can no longer stay where we are. The rollercoaster of anxiety, depression or grief can be exhausting for anyone. Eventually, we often feel burnt out and unsure of where to turn to. Perhaps you've tried other measures, but have yet to make what feels like genuine progress.
Cultivating self-compassion is a foundational skill that can combat potentially debilitating shame and feelings of unworthiness, from being carried into future relationships. Together, we can best work to navigate the parts of you or your child that need healing. Additionally, I have experience with domestic violence, co-dependency and self-esteem concerns.
I align with the belief that a compassionate witness at critical points of life can be therapeutic. I would feel honored to bear witness to the portions of life that may need unpacking. Looking at therapists can often feel as though you're trying on shoes. A "comfy fit" is an important component that I deeply respect. Please call for a free consult.
