My Approach to Helping

My therapeutic approach is grounded in an integrative model of narrative therapy, mindfulness-based CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and systems theory. I believe that inclusive, strengths-based, client-centered treatment can help clients develop self-compassion and self-understanding, live according to their values and abilities, and gain the unique tools they need to be themselves in this world.

More Info About My Practice

I have completed certification to be an ADHD-certified clinical specialist (ADHD-CCSP) and specialize in working with women and girls, who are frequently misdiagnosed and misunderstood, in addition to other diverse populations. I also actively work to improve mental health services statewide through local leadership as a board member of the local chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists organization, as well as through peer-reviewed publication on ADHD and women in a national professional journal for therapists.

My Therapy Focus

Individuals with ADD ADHD have unique challenges that impact their lived experiences in the world differently than people without ADD ADHD. Therapy with a specialized training will be able to explain these differences from a neurobiological and relational level, and work with that information to explore how the ADHD shows up in your life.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The duration and frequency of therapy with me are individualized to meet your needs. The first few sessions of therapy will be information gathering as I get to know you better. We will assess for ADDADHD and screen for other disorders, as well as begin to define your therapeutic goals.

From there, we will work together to understand and process how the ADHD and other parts of yourself have impacted the experiences and challenges you now face. We will explore the tools you need to create the life you want to live, with enhanced self-compassion, self-understanding, and better overall well-being.
