My Approach to Therapy

Proven successful treatment that can help patients live more peaceful and fulfilling lives. The treatment that I use is psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I believe in working together to to feel less alone. Helping people of various backgrounds working through patterns of behavior to achieve loving connections with others and personal life goals. Reducing fear to uncover underlying strength and hope. Develop meaningful bonds with a loving partner, family, and friends. Proven successful at decreasing addictive behaviors, eating disorders, and sexual disorders. Specialize in working with pregnant women transitioning into first time parenthood and postpartum depression. Extensive experience with gay and lesbian adults. Areas of expertise include working with people in the film and television industry. I have very extensive training in working with the patient to understand themselves and their unconscious inner world. I have been told by patients that it is a remarkable type of treatment that goes above and beyond other treatment options. I am an advanced candidate at the New Center for Psychoanalysis and have 10+ years experience post licensure. People often find that psychoanalytic treatment opens their eyes in such a way that they wish they would have begun sooner in their lives.

My Practice & Services

Psychoanalytic training is known to be one of the most extensive and thorough experiences that teach candidates to learn the very deep internal working of the mind. I work with each patient to help them understand their place in the world and how patterns have been established and can be unwound. We each have an unconscious inner world that is like a pair of glasses in which we see the world through our previous experiences. I work in a very experience near way to connect with each patient on an intimate and emotional level. The most freeing aspect of this treatment is giving people the ability to feel in control of their lives and emotions without the experience of a puppet master at work.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

It is very important to feel connected and comfortable with your therapist. I believe that people can sense this quality in the first session. Also, experience is very important. Many therapists are new and still learning about what really works in treatment and are still learning about how to use their own mind to be truly open to understand another's mind without their own cobwebs.
