Dr. Penner believes in helping every member of a family to live well. This can involve identifying, giving teenagers the skills to manage the stresses of adolescence, or helping adults build the emotional regulation and relationship skills to create new families of their own.

In terms of available services, Dr. Penner provides therapy to children, individuals, and couples and psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents. She relies on evidence-based approaches to therapy (i.e., therapies that have been shown to be effective in research) and her assessments are comprehensive, evaluating children's neuropsychological and social-emotional functioning.

Importantly, Dr. Penner understands how challenging and anxiety-provoking contacting a psychologist can be, and ensures that every step is taken to ensure that children, adolescents, and adults/couples feel comfortable, understood, and supported during their visits to her private practice.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Penner is a staff psychologist at BC Children's Hospital, a clinical associate and instructor at Simon Fraser University, and a clinical investigator with the Child and Family Research Institute. She is active in training, research, and education.
