As a therapist, I strive to create an environment and relationship that allows you to feel safe and accepted just as you are. While I recognize this work can be extremely difficult, I also know that it is incredibly worthwhile. I believe that although life may at times feel like it is bending or breaking us, it might also be showing us our own strength and resilience. I believe that healing occurs when we are willing to become intimate with our wounds; that pain and our past is not meant to hold us hostage but to teach us and offer us growth, a deeper experience of ourselves, and a deeper experience of the world around us. I believe we are capable of becoming friends with our mind and our emotions and we are capable of transforming trauma into meaning. I believe it is possible to feel more fully alive in this life than we might realize. Whether you are feeling stuck, powerless, overwhelmed, flooded by emotions, alone, or are hoping to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, together we will work towards the vision you have for your life and your experience in the world.
One of my goals in our work together is to foster a foundation of compassion and gentleness for yourself and your current circumstances. Often for real healing to occur, there must first be deep compassion for yourself, especially the parts of yourself you dislike or consider ugly. I incorporate mindfulness, integrative, and creative practices that allow clients to release old patterns, cultivate self-compassion, meet their experience with an open heart, heal relationships, and show up in the world authentically as themselves. My intention as a therapist is to hold the belief that change and choice are always possible and that your story is yours to reclaim. Please contact me for a free consultation as a first step in getting to know one another.
