My Approach to Helping
At this point, you are familiar with the uncomfortable feeling that your life is not as fulfilling as you'd like it to be. Perhaps you can point to specific symptoms that trouble you, like sadness, an inability to get pleasure out of your day-to-day life, feeling critical of yourself, or constantly worrying day and night. I help people who want to get more meaning and satisfaction out of their lives.
Often you can describe the ways in which your life "feels wrong," but what eludes you is knowing, or even believing in, a life that "feels right." I specialize in helping people not only understand the pain they have been feeling - where it has come from and how it took root in their lives. But I also help people put into words and action their hopes and desires for a new, more fulfilling life. By bringing my advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy into my work, I am able to help people understand the role the unconscious mind plays in their daily lives. The unconscious mind is what keeps us repeating the same relationships over and over again, or continuing to feel depressed or anxious day after day no matter what we try on our own. Together we will explore the roadblocks that keep you stuck, while forging new roads towards the life you want.
