My Approach to Helping
I believe psychological health is having the inner capacities and resources that allow one to live life with greater freedom and possibility. It is my hope you will feel safe and secure in our therapeutic relationship so we may explore issues hindering you from living a fully engaged life. I borrow from various psychotherapies including contemporary psychoanalytic-psychodynamic and cognitive- behavioral principals. However, I believe the most important aspect of therapy is our therapeutic alliance.
I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Depth Psychology focuses on making the unconscious more conscious which increases personal awareness. Benefits can include insight, expanded choices, liberation from the past, improved interpersonal relationships, and symptom reduction.
Additionally, I graduated from the Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program from New Center for Psychoanalysis. I also have a master's degree in Spiritual Psychology. In addition to my clinical work, I am an adjunct professor at Occidental College.
