My Approach to Helping

I believe psychological health is having the inner capacities and resources that allow one to live life with greater freedom and possibility. It is my hope you will feel safe and secure in our therapeutic relationship so we may explore issues hindering you from living a fully engaged life. I borrow from various psychotherapies; cognitive- behavioral, humanistic, and contemporary psychoanalyticpsychodynamic principals. However, I believe the most important aspect of therapy is our therapeutic alliance.

I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Depth Psychology focuses on making the unconscious more accessible so one can make more informed choices. Additionally, I graduated from the Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program from New Center for Psychoanalysis. I also have a master's degree in Spiritual Psychology.

More Info About My Practice

I believe within each of us is the capacity to live an authentic and meaningful life. Ideally, I will assist you in this process. In addition to my clinical work, I am an adjunct professor at Occidental College and Chapman University.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

The human connection.

My Therapy Focus

Helping you develop your inner strengths and capacities. Additionally, bringing awareness to aspects of your inner world that were previously out of your awareness.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Selecting a therapist is like dating. Not every therapeutic couple will be a match. Find someone you feel comfortable seeing.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I feel this is crucial to our work together.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

I like to think in terms of "struggles with living".
