My Approach to Helping
I view psychotherapy as an opportunity to understand life's challenges and overcome issues that may have been obstacles to your happiness for a very long time. I strive to create a safe place where an honest exploration is possible, to learn new ways of coping and to let go of ineffective coping strategies that no longer work for you. Life's transitions can be difficult and nobody should have to face them alone. I can help you. I believe it is entirely possible to come away from personal struggles with new wisdom, strength, and new sparkle
More Info About My Practice
I work from an integrative approach, drawing primarily from a psychodynamic orientation. A significant piece of my therapeutic style is developing effective coping skills with the belief that everyone does the best they can with the resources they have. This is individual, very personal work and is different for everyone. I have over ten years working with both adults and children with a range of issues including depression, eating disorders, stress and anxiety, domestic violence, relationship issues, addiction, divorce, and gender identity issues Additionally, I have significant experience working with acculturation issues, grief and loss, parenting issues, bipolar and mood disorders, anger management, and end-of-life issues. Whether you are interested in short-term interventions or a longer insight oriented self-exploration, I can help you figure out what you are facing and develop skills to manage long-term change in your life
