My Approach to Helping

I work with young adults (20s and 30s) struggling with a history of trauma, anxiety, stress, depression and major life transitions. I'm accepting new clients and currently doing all of my sessions via teletherapy (online therapy). New clients can be seen within 1-2 days.

At DC Talk Therapy, all 15 of our therapists specialize in working with young adults (20s and 30s) with anxiety, depression and relationship problems. We offer individual counseling, couples therapy, marriage counseling and group therapy.

We have several therapists who specialize in trauma and who use use EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). EMDR is know for lowering distressing symptoms of trauma in their patients. We have some of the best therapists in DC.

Since we opened our practice in Washington, DC, in 2012, we've helped more than 1,500 people live happier and more fulfilling lives. Our therapists use a variety of therapeutic approaches but primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT focuses on modifying maladaptive or distorted thoughts about ourselves or the rest of the world as a way to change resulting feelings and behavior.

Our therapists believe that psychotherapy can be tremendously rewarding, even life-changing. We see therapy as very much a collaborative process, so we ask clients for feedback throughout the process. We want the client's experience to be as valuable as possible.

As of Oct. 2022, some of our therapists offer in-person sessions. All of our D.C. therapists continue to offer teletherapy on secure, confidential and easy-to-use video platforms such as Zoom and Doxy.

We know people in Washington, DC, lead busy lives so we offer early morning, evening and weekend appointments. Our therapists are available Monday through Friday 7 am-9 pm and Saturdays 9 am-5 pm.

Our office staff answers the phone live Monday through Friday 9 am-5 pm and they can often schedule you an appointment within 2-3 business days.
