My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with people and helping them improve their lives. In my practice I have three main areas of focus: (1) couples and relationships, in which I am strongly influenced by the work of John and Julie Gottman and Sue Johnson; (2) children and families, in which I use family systems therapy and cognitive-behavioral approaches, sometimes combined with mindfulness and ACT; and (3) individuals, with whom I also use cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, ACT, and positive psychology. I welcome questions from potential clients about all of these approaches, and want clients to be collaborative with me in terms of what works for them, what doesn't, and on what they want to focus.
