My Approach to Helping
I offer my clients a nurturing environment where they feel secure enough to express themselves without fear of judgment. My therapeutic style is empathetic yet directive. Understanding that clients are seeking answers and guidance, I work to create a collaborative partnership where, together we can explore the root cause of your challenges and create an action plan for change. Through examination of your subjective world view, we will strive to uncover areas where negativity has taken hold and blocked your path to a successful and satisfying life. Together we will discover what techniques complement your unique personality, and apply those newly acquired skills to regaining control over your thoughts, moods, emotions and behaviors. I enjoy being there to watch my clients evolve and grow as they work to meet their full potential.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
The most rewarding aspect of being a therapist is witnessing a client realize that they have moved from a place of insecurity and pain to one of confidence and success. Because therapy is a process and goals are achieved over time, clients often fail to recognize how much they are growing and changing. When that moment of realization occurs, and the client looks back at how they felt when they first started seeing me in comparison to how they now feel, the effect of how far they have come is inspiring. Seeing them take pride in all the work they have done, and feel positive about themselves and their future is why I love being a therapist.
My Therapy Focus
My therapeutic style is more directive than some other therapists. I believe that clients want a level of guidance from their therapist. I want my clients to feel understood and validated, while building a plan of action for their futures. As a result of this philosophy, my major focus of therapy is emotionally processing the current situation, developing realistic measurable goals, and determining the most effective ways to achieve those goals. You are the person who knows you best, and thus you are the one who holds the answers. In my counseling sessions I motivate clients to uncover those answers that are hidden within them, and feel confident with what they find.
