My Approach to Helping

ADHD Testing starts with a formal diagnostic interview to learn more about you, your familial and health history, and the current concerns you’re experiencing in your life. In addition to the interview process, you’ll complete a series of computerized tests. We know, tests may sound scary or stressful, but the staff at AAO promise to make the process as painless as possible for you. A series of psychological questionnaires are also administered because no single test can determine an accurate diagnosis of ADHD. The ADHD Testing process takes about 2-3 hours, and can be done in person at our office in Oklahoma City.

It is not uncommon for people with ADHD to have difficulty with memory recall, so it is helpful for partners, family, and friends to be contacted to help collect as much data as possible. Your licensed professional counselor will also want to understand what symptoms you display and experience in your everyday life (ex. Difficulty paying bills on time, disinterest in your significant other, difficulty paying attention to important details, missing appointments, difficulty in school) it is also helpful for immediate family and close friends to be involved in this part of the process.

More Info About My Practice

An Oklahoman, Briana Mauldin-Looby attended Southern Nazarene University, where she graduated, Psi Chi, earning a bachelor’s degree with Honors in Psychology. Desiring to explore and learn more in the field, she chose to begin training at MidAmerica Christian University. During her internship she worked as a psychotherapist under supervision at St. Anthony’s Behavioral outpatient program. She graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling with a clinical emphasis. Following graduation, she completed additional psychotherapy training to better her skills as a psychotherapist at Advanced Therapy Associates. After finishing her schooling and training as a psychotherapist, she learned she had ADHD herself. Since discovering her own diagnosis after struggling through years of living with a disorder unbeknown to her, it has become her personal and professional mission to help others learn to recognize and manage the lifelong condition. Her unique treatment approach incorporates innovative and collaborative assessments, while combining her expertise in psychotherapy, and wellness practices. As Director and Owner of AAO, our mission is to empower wellness by assessing, educating, and giving our clients results they can trust. Briana Mauldin-Looby lives in Oklahoma City with her three children. She is diligent in incorporating wellness into her everyday life, with daily mindfulness mediations and walks in nature. She enjoys traveling, music, painting, and great food. She is passionate about lifelong learning and dedicates herself to cultivating the well-being of others to make the world a better place for her clients. It is gratifying for her to see the direct positive impact of assessing clients, getting them results, and referring them treatment to improve a client’s quality of life.
