Suicide is a major issue in Edmond. In 2017, the city had 14 residents die of suicide. Six of these residents died from a gunshot wound. The second most common method was hanging/asphyxiation, which killed five residents. Half of the people who died by suicide were male.

Opioid addiction is also a concern in Edmond. In 2017, the city had at least 10 residents die from opioid overdose.
