My Approach to Helping
Life can be very difficult at times. Maybe you are overwhelmed by a difficult situation, you might be plagued by a past trauma that won't go away, or you might be wondering if your marriage is going to make it. I want to walk with you through this difficulty, help you rise above the hardship, and help you heal and restore. My approach to therapy is you centered. I will first get to know you, get to know what and when your difficulty started, and then we will create a plan together on what it looks like to journey towards healing. I usually give my clients tools in the first couple of sessions, and then we start to dive deep to heal the wounds.
I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and work with people who have had past traumas. I often work with Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Military, Veterans, Assault Victims, and people who are experiencing anxiety. Trauma has a way of plaguing our mind with disturbing images, feelings, and beliefs/messages. I work with you to help you heal from your past trauma with the goal of you no longer being disturbed by what happened.
I am also an EFT Trained therapist. Emotionally Focused Therapy is a modality that is known for helping couples resolve issues, improve their connection, improve their communication, and restore their relationship. I work with pre-marital couples, dating couples, and married couples. I also help couples who are dealing with trust issues and parenting issues
