My Approach to Helping
Over my career I have worked with many populations including substance abuse, adults with severe mental illness, in-home behavior therapy with children, and child protection. It is through these experiences that I have been able to see where issues develop in childhood and then manifest into adulthood and everywhere in between. I have been going into people's homes and getting to know them and their families for close to a decade. I get the stress an adolescent feels to meet their parent's expectations while trying to survive High School. I know how difficult it is as a young man trying to find your way in life as an adult with all the financial, relationship, and family issues that follow. I understand how hard it is to raise an adopted child who acts out in rage towards their adopted parent despite the love and affection they are provided. I use my knowledge and experience in these areas to show my clients I actually do know what they are going through and I can help. I achieve this by utilizing various techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Behavior Modification, and coaching techniques.
