My Approach to Helping
Being human can be incredibly difficult. It can also be incredibly beautiful. When we’re overwhelmed, whether that’s due mental health symptoms, current or past life circumstances, or trouble in our relationships, it can be difficult to engage fully in life and our inner critics can become the loudest voice in our heads. This can lead to feelings of low self worth, unrealistic expectations, difficulty engaging with others, disruptions at work and play. When the way we’re showing up doesn’t fit how we’d like to, therapy can be a place to explore why and what could be different.
I aim to provide a nonjudgmental and supportive space for you to identify what you’d like from your life, and how to get there. I work with clients to increase their self compassion, identify their personal strengths, and interact with their environment more effectively. I also help clients learn new coping tools when they want to do things differently.
I have experience working with adolescents, and adults of diverse genders, sexual orientations, racial backgrounds, and religions. I work primarily with people experiencing symptoms of depression, various types of anxiety, negative thinking patterns, and difficulty with self-esteem. If you’re ready to make a change, reach out and let’s work together.
