What's My Approach to Therapy?

Currently unavailable for new clients.

Counseling begins with our discussing what concerns you. Together, we will identify goals, problem-solve, and actively work toward change. My style is interactive. This means that along with careful listening, I will ask questions, offer ideas, provide education, and research results relevant to your situation. This makes for a counseling session that is dynamic, collaborative, and productive.

My Practice & Services

Being human is a lifelong learning process. Everyone gets stuck at some point. My job is to help you move forward and gain wisdom along the way.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Find someone who is a good personality fit and has the right training to help with your particular situation. It's OK to shop around. Call and talk with the therapist you are considering. If it doesn't feel like a good fit, call someone else.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

In my view, it is a wise person who knows when to seek counsel. Therapy is not about correcting "weakness." Therapy is about learning how to be the person you most want to be.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Clients usually start by coming in once a week or every other week. How long therapy takes depends on the nature of the issue we are working with. Generally, clients work with me for a few months and then check-in as needed.
