My Approach to Helping
Ralph Emerson stated, "Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams." I believe this should be everyone's experience. I want to help you work on and workout the problems you struggle with in order for you to live the life you want to have and follow your dreams. I believe therapy can help you get to a place in which you control your experiences and not be in a place in which your experiences control you, or you feel that things are out of your control.
More Info About My Practice
Therapy should be a place in which you can tell your story, feel heard and understood; and feel empowered to make changes. We will examine your current strategies and tools; and develop skills to help deal with the current issue. Whether you are talking to your partner, child, co-worker or friend; I believe effective communication skills are essential to getting what we want out of life and having supportive and thriving relationships.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I enjoy working with tweens, teens and young adults. Working with blended families, such as step-families, adoptive families, foster families and reunification are areas of focus. I also have extensive training in trauma, behavioral issues and grief and loss. I also work in the Collaborative Divorce process as a Child Specialist.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Therapy is a vehicle to help individuals and families be their best selves. Therapy offers that objective view that is often times hard to get while in the midst of conflict and daily living. In therapy, you can work toward finding solutions and having a better understanding of life challenges. Therapy can help you be a better person, child, partner and family member.
